Alice "Jean" Criswell Stine was born 18 Jul 1929 at Montoursville,
Lycoming County, PA to Charles C. & Maude
A. Rayhorn Criswell. A recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from
the Lycoming County Genealogical Society, Jean has been an active genealogist
since the 1970's. Our Society has been very fortunate to have had her
as a member for her volunteer work, and knowledge that she was always
share.
In 1976, Jean started her research on the Rayhorn branch of her ancestry. She authored the book, "Descendants of Henry Rehorn", published 1983, and a second book, which is an update of the first. Below is an impressive ancestry that Jean worked hard in compiling. Please note the spelling variations: Rahorn, Rayhorn, and Rehorn.

In Memory of a Friend
A. Jean Criswell Stine, 72, of 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, and formerly of Duboistown, died May 2, 2002, at her residence. The daughter of Charles C. and Maude A. Rayhorn Criswell, she was born July 18, 1929, in Montoursville.
Jean was a member of the Duboistown United Methodist Church, the John
Burroughs Historical Society and the American Legion Post 104 Ladies
Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Lycoming County Historical Society.
She was a member of the Lycoming County Genealogical Society (LCGS),
where she was a former editor of the LCGS newsletter. She was an avid
genealogist and published two books on her Rayhorn ancestors.
She received an associate’s degree in computer programming from the former
Williamsport Area Community College. She was employed by the former GTE
Sylvania and later as a computer programmer at Brodart.
A. Jean enjoyed reading and stamp and coin collecting. She also designed
and created Victorian Christmas ornaments.
Jean is survived by a son, Sidney, Jr. (Sharon) of South Williamsport;
a brother, C. Dale Criswell of Loyalsock Township; two sisters, Patricia
(Harold) Karge of Montoursville and Beverly (William) Murphy of Milan;
three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. James E. Weibley of Duboistown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 10-11 a.m
